After completing his orthopedic surgery residency training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center (#2 orthopedic hospital in the US), Dr. NaPier completed a comprehensive spine surgical fellowship at Harvard University, where he learned advanced techniques from expert surgeons at Massachusetts General Hospital & Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. NaPier Publishes Prone Transpsoas Technique and Results in North American Spine Society Journal

Sept 28 2023. Dr. NaPier’s manuscript, Prone Transpsoas Lateral Interbody Fusion (PTP LIF) with Anterior Docking: Preliminary functional and radiographic outcomes, was published in North American Spine Society (NASS) Journal . This is the largest, single-surgeon case series with radiographic and functional outcomes to date. In the article, Dr. NaPier describes his technique and the exciting improvements in spinal alignment, postoperative pain, and function experienced by his patients. Dr. Zachary NaPier joins Indiana Spine Group

Zachary NaPier, MD, joined Indiana Spine Group, the Carmel-based practice said in an Oct. 12 Facebook post

Dr. NaPier is working out of the practice's Lafayette, Ind. location. He has expertise in prone transpsoas lateral interbody fusion and has taught the technique to other surgeons. Recently, he published a case series on PTP LIF in the North American Spine Society Journal and presented on the technique.

He earned his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and completed his residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. NaPier also completed a spine fellowship at Harvard Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
